Objects of desire

I was thumbing through exhibition materials from the the 1970s, when I came across this beautiful 'Pastil' chair designed by Eero Aarnio in 1967. Using high quality plastic he produced forms that married function and art. The Pastil Chair was awarded the American Industrial Design Award in 1968.
The Pastille chair was fun to use. It could be used indoors as well as outdoors. It could even be used on water.
Eero Aarnio (born 21 July 1932) is a Finnish interior designer, well known for his innovative furniture designs in the 1960s, notably his plastic and fibreglass chairs
