Space ...attack

'I need space'

What does that mean .... too many times when these words are uttered the spell for at least one party the ultimate demise of a relationship.
Should this be or do the words just mean what the say they mean......
Wanting some time away from the pressures of a relationship I think is akin to taking a few days off a challenging job to refocus your mental energy ... assess your growth and look at what has been achieved emotionally and physically
Truth be told the break could be a second to a soul searching trip . depends on how we feel
So why is the red button of the nuclear stockpile depressed when those words are uttered .
Is it because the are uttered infrequently ...so their impact is felt more
Should breaks be a regular part of the relationship or does wanting a moment constituite doubt and is that totally unnecessary even when a mortgage and offspring are involved
Is this toying with the status quo too dangerous and what are the lasting emotional implications
Should I feel guilty for wanting some time away.
